The Organizing Committee of the Banff 2011 meeting includes members of SCIJ Canada's Executive Board, Travel Alberta and Banff Lake Louise Tourism.

Frederick Wallace
Founder and Editor-in-Chief,
President of SCIJ Canada

Frederick is a television and film producer and editor. He has worked for some of the most important media organizations in Canada : Rogers Television, Radio-Canada, TV Ontario, Cogeco and the Whistler Printing and Publishing Group Inc.

As a producer, Frederick has filmed an important collection of HD images for the Canadian Tourism Commission. This includes an exclusive bank of aerial images of the country from coast to coast. His work was shown during the 2010 Olympic Winter Games to show Canada's features, and to promote Canadian tourism on the international stage. Currently, he manages his magazine and website: Ski Rebel.

Claude Desbiens
Freelance Journalist,

Claude has worked in the field of audiovisual communications for more than 40 years, including 31 years with Société Radio-Canada, Canada's French-language national broadcaster. As a member of Québec's Federation of Professional Journalists (FPJQ) and of the Artists' Union (UDA), he continues to work in the field of communications and as a freelance journalist. His vast experience covers several spheres of journalism and communications: editor, journalist and television host on RDI, Radio-Canada's all-news television network.

Andrée Ducharme

Andrée has worked as a reporter in the newsrooms of TVA and LCN (the private all-news television network in Québec) for the past 25 years. She has covered numerous social and political events in Québec.

Mario Proulx

Secretary and Treasurer of SCIJ Canada

Mario produces radio documentaries for Radio-Canada. In the past 30 years, he has worked as a journalist, national and international reporter and interviewer. He is also a songwriter.

Noelle Aune
Executive Director, Media Relations and Marketing
Travel Alberta

Noelle is a home-grown graduate from the University of Calgary, with a degree in Political Science and a public relations certificate. Noelle has been with Travel Alberta for six years and is currently the Executive Director of Media, Public Relations and Events. Prior to Travel Alberta, Noelle was with Canadian Rocky Mountain Resorts as Director of Media and Sales.

Kurt Schroeder

Kurt actually began skiing two years before SCIJ's last visit to Banff. Today, a dual citizen and 8-year resident of Banff, Kurt originally hailed from the United States. Drawing on previous experience with and California's Mammoth Mountain, Kurt brings unique perspectives on tourism marketing and an unparalleled passion for the sport of skiing and the mountains.

Dan Markham
Director, Marketing & Sales
Ski Banff, Lake Louise, Sunshine

Dan Markham is Director, Marketing & Sales for Ski Banff-Lake Louise-Sunshine. He holds a Masters degree in Business as well as over 20 years experience in the Marketing & Communications industry. Skiing since he was three, he is a certified Alpine and Telemark Instructor, as well as holding an assistant guide's level Avalanche certification. When not skiing his three favourite resorts he spends his free time backcountry ski touring and mountain biking in his beautiful backyard of Banff National Park with his wife Lynette and their Siberian Husky.

Tulene Steiestol

Tulene Steiestol is the senior manager of travel media relations for Banff Lake Louise Tourism which means she is fortunate enough to share the stories of Banff and Lake Louise with media from around the world. Tulene looks forward to seeing the familiar faces from the SCIJ meeting in Morocco and is excited to welcome all SCIJ delegates to her backyard of Banff National Park in 2011.
